Police Blotter: Attempted Burglaries and a Purse Snatcher

Editor's Note: Chestnut Hill Patch mistakenly reported that David Sibley was arrested for burglary. This was incorrect. Sibley was the victim of a burglary, not the offender.
Each week, we will stop by the 14th District and gather the incidents reported in Chestnut Hill according to Philadelphia police.
Attempted burglary … A resident of the 600 block of East Allens Lane reported March 1, 9 p.m., that someone had attempted to gain entry into their house through the garage door, but was unable and nothing was missing, police said.

Attempted burglary … A SEPTA employee reported March 3, 12:45 a.m., that two males attempted to gain entry to a shipping container located at the Chestnut Hill West train station, 100 West Evergreen Avenue, using bolt cutters, police said.
Theft from vehicle … A resident of the 7700 block of Winston Road reported March 3, 4 p.m., that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and an Apple iPad, valued at $500, was missing, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 8100 block of Shawnee Street reported March 5, 8 p.m., that someone had kicked open his back door, forcibly entering his home, and a gold chain, valued at $300, was missing, police said.
Robbery … A woman reported March 6, 2:20 p.m., that a black male, age 16-20, with a medium build and medium complexion, wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball hat got out of a silver car, grabbed her purse and fled in the same vehicle, police said. According to the police, the purse and its contents were valued at $450.
