Police Blotter: Arrest Made on Retail Thefts

The following information has been supplied by the 14th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Retail theft … Phillip Allen, 49, of the 6800 block of Crittenden Street, was arrested Oct. 30, on charges of retail theft in the amount of $159, after an employee of Staples, 7700 Germantown Ave., reported the same day, 2:28 p.m., seeing him take two Brookstone Spy Pens from a shelf and leave without paying, police said.

Retail theft … An employee of Pathmark, 7700 Crittenden Street, reported Oct. 30, 2:40 p.m., that he observed a man take two family-size steak trays, valued at $77 and leave without paying, police said. According to police, the stolen items were found on Phillip Allen, of the above report, when he was arrested for retail theft.

Retail theft … An employee of , 7700 Crittenden Street, reported Oct. 27, 8:15 p.m., that he observed a man place 10 disposable cameras, valued at $180, into his pocket and leave without paying, police said.
