Police Blotter: Purse Snatched

Each week, we will stop by the 14th District and gather the incidents reported in Chestnut Hill according to Philadelphia police.

Robbery from retirement home... A T-Mobile Galaxy S3 phone was reported missing from a retirement home July 27 on the 400 block of East Abington Avenue.

Robbery, purse snatch... According to the police report, a woman was walking across the street on July 24 at 11:51 a.m. at Hartwell Lane and Ardleigh Street when a black male ran up behind her and grabbed her Coach bag -- containing an iPhone, cloth wallet, $80, drivers license and credit and debit cards. The victim and a witness said they observed the offender jump into a burgundy sedan and flee. The purse was recovered later.

Robbery... The victim said he moved into an apartment on the 7900 block of Stenton Avenue on July 7. He went back to his former home in New Jersey and returned July 19 to find all his possessions missing and the lock changed. Items stolen ranged from 32-inch TVs to silverware. There was $17,000 worth of items missing.
