Police: Attempted Robbery at Baker Street Bread Co.

The incident occurred around 11:14 p.m. on Aug. 18, according to police.

Last Thursday, a man tried to rob Baker Street Bread Company but  fled before obtaining any goods or money, according to police.

The man entered Baker Street Bread, located at 8009 Germantown Ave., around 11:14 p.m. on Aug. 18, police said. He pointed a black and grey semi-automatic handgun at an employee, then demanded money.

When the cashier told the man to check out the cash register, the man refused and was hesitant to approach the counter, according to police.

He then decided to leave and fled south on Germantown Avenue toward Willow Grove Avenue. The man was described to police as black, about 5'7," with a thin build. He was wearing a black ski mask.

Nothing was taken, according to police.
