Police: Arson in Car Fire Sunday Night

The incident was on West Springfield Avenue.

A woman parked her car on the 500 block of West Springfield Avenue and took a walk Sunday night. When she returned, there was smoke coming from her car window, police said.

According to police, the woman returned to her white 2001 Chrystler PT Cruiser around 7:05 p.m. She found a balled up piece of paper lit on fire in the back seat of her car. The woman told police she believed the paper was put in the car through the sunroof.

Police said the Fire Marshall arrived and declared the small fire an arson.
