Parking Vigilante Punches Woman, Police Say

The incident was reported Friday evening outside the Citizens Bank on East Wynnewood Road.

A Citizens Bank patron in Wynnewood was punched in the face Friday evening by a man critical of her parking, Lower Merion police said Monday.

The victim required treatment at Lankenau Hospital for bruising and a bloodshot eye. Police have identified and are pursuing a suspect, whose name and description they are not releasing while the investigation is active.

About 5:25 p.m. Friday, a woman and her adult daughter stopped at the East Wynnewood Road bank to withdraw some cash on their way to dinner, police said. The woman parked in front of the ATM and had gotten out of the car when a man approached her from behind, shouting, "Who do you think you are, parking illegally?"

When the woman tried to get back in her car, the man punched her in the face and fled, police said.

The man is obviously a scumbag! There is NEVER a reason for ANY man to EVER strike a woman. Any man that strikes, kicks or punches a woman is a worthless lowlife coward not worthy of being called a man.

He shouldn't have hit her, agreed, but I think we're all sick and tired of people who think they can park wherever they like, simply because, "the rules are made for OTHER people." Maybe if everyone acted more courteously to others, things like this would never happen. Think about it, folks!

I agree he shouldn't have hit her. I see people all the time park in front of the atm's. But what gets me is this PEOPLE parking in HANDICAP SPOTS and THEY ARE NOT HANDICAPPED ( no placecard hanging fron rear-view mirror OR handicapped license plate).
