Man Uses 'Big Stick' to Steal iPhone, Police Say

A vehicle is taken in a separate police report.

Robbery: On April 10, at approximately 10:50 a.m., police received a report of a theft in the 200 block of West Hortter Street.  According to police, a man got off the bus at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Hortter Street.  Police say that the man was approached by another man who picked up a large stick and threatened the other man with it.  The man with the stick then stole the other man’s iPhone from him and ran off, police say.  Police then apprehended the robber in the 6600 block of Chew Avenue, and the phone was recovered.

Theft: On April 10, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 100 block of East Mount Pleasant Avenue.  According to police, a woman claims that her car was taken without her permission by an acquaintance of hers who has a suspended license and resides in New Jersey.
