Man Sought in Mt. Airy Bank Robbery

A 27-year-old man has robbed three banks and a Dunkin Donuts in the past two weeks, police say.

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are looking for a 27-year-old man after police said he robbed the Citizens Bank located at 6324 Stenton Ave. in Mt. Airy Tuesday.

A man authorities believe to be Carl Goodwin entered the bank at approximately 12:15 p.m. on July 2 and handed the bank teller a note.

The man was given cash, but police aren't saying how much. Police said he then ran from the bank and headed south on Stenton Ave.

Authorities believe that the man committed several other robberies in the area in the last two weeks, including three bank robberies.

Goodwin robbed the same Citizens Bank branch on June 20, police said, as well as a Bank of America located at 3745 Aramingo Ave. and Beneficial Bank located at 5301 Chew Ave.

The same man is also believed to have robbed a Dunkin Donuts located at 3705 Germantown Ave. on June 17, police said.

Goodwin was charged with escaping from a federal halfway house facility in Philadelphia last month, police said.

Police describe Goodwin as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.  Police also consider him to be armed and dangerous.
