Man Arrested in Alleged Mt. Airy Assault

The following information is provided by the Philadelphia Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction or guilt and all individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Police arrested an area connection to an alleged incident of aggravated assault on a Mt. Airy resident, according to a release from the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to a release, a resident of the 200 block of W Upsal Street in Mt. Airy reported to police that her ex-boyfriend,  29-year-old Philadelphia man, allegedly hit her head against an iron rail post in the stairway of her apartment during an argument on Dec 1.

The resident suffered a deep gash in her bottom lip and felt loosening in her teeth, according to police. The woman was taken to the hospital by emergency services and the man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and domestic abuse.
