Man Arrested for Assaulting A Police Officer Outside Chestnut Hill Hospital

The assault occurred Saturday, Aug. 25.

Road rage led to a man being arrested outside of Saturday for assaulting an off-duty police officer, police said.

The officer was pulling into Chestnut Hill Hospital, when Marion Seigler, 46, of Philadelphia, began honking at him. In response, the officer gave the gesture of raising his middle finger at Seigler, according to police reports.

Seigler responded, according to reports, by exiting his own car, approaching the other car, and punching the officer through the open window of his car. Police said that the victim, whose name was not given, identified himself as a police officer, and Seigler responded "I don't care."
