Gun Pulled on Homeland Security Officer, Police Say

Police say the officer was talking to a driver who had been driving erratically.

A man pulled a gun on an off-duty Homeland Security officer in the 7100 block of Emlen Street on May 14, police said.

The Homeland Security Officer witnessed a vehicle driving erratically at the intersection of Emlen and Cresheim Valley Road, police said.

The officer pulled alongside the erratic vehicle and asked if everything was OK, police said.

The driver of the erratic vehicle called the officer a name and then reached for a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

The officer fled the scene and reported the incident to the police.
