Update: FBI Releases Photos of PNC Bank Robber

The attempted robbery happened at 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

Update (3/16/12 9 a.m.): The FBI has released surveillence photos of the man who attempted to rob PNC Bank wednesday. The FBI is seeking the public's assistence in identifying the man. Anyone with information about the man pictured is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department.

The FBI confirmed that an attempted robbery occured at the branch at 12:55 Wednesday afternoon. The man was described as in his late teens or early 20s, 5 foot 5 or 6 inches, medium build, black hair, brown eyes with a tattoo on his left forearm, according to a spokeswoman for the FBI. He was wearing a blue and white plaid shirt, according to the FBI, at the time of the attempted robbery.

The man entered the bank and attempted to rob it using a demand note that implied a weapon, according to the FBI.

The man did not get away with any cash, the FBI said. Surveillance photos were obtained, and will be released shortly.
