FBI: Attempted Robbery at Sovereign Bank Tuesday

The FBI believes the man is also responsible for the National Penn Bank robbery Jan. 30.

An attempted robbery of , 8623 Germantown Ave., ended Tuesday morning without the suspect getting away with cash, according to the FBI.

According to a release from the Bureau, the man, who is also believed to be responsible for the robbery of , entered the Sovereign Bank branch Tuesday morning, around 10:10 a.m. He attempted to rob the bank by presenting a threatening note to a teller, but left without any cash, the release said.

According to the FBI, the man was described as about 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, slim build, with a goatee and mustache, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

The FBI believes the man is responsible for both the and the robbery of Conestoga Bank in Glenside Jan. 6.

The FBI has requested that anyone who has any information on the man showed in the surveillance photos contact the bureau at (215) 418-4000 or local police.
