CVS Worker Stole Valium, Xanax, Police Say

The total worth of the merchandise stolen from the Rosemont store was $657.

An employee of the CVS pharmacy in Rosemont with a Northwest connection is charged with stealing pills from her store, Lower Merion police reported.

A 22-year-old resident of East Mount Airy was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested about 2:50 p.m. Oct. 10 after being detained by a CVS loss-prevention officer, police said.

The woman had taken a $310 bottle of Valium that included 100 pills of 200 milligrams apiece, as well as a 100-count bottle of Xanax that cost $347.
