Burglaries: Two in the Last Week in Chestnut Hill

According to police, there were two burglaries in Chestnut Hill to start the month of August.

Two burglaries were reported in the last week in Chestnut Hill, one on each of the first two days of August:

West Highland Avenue: A resident of the 200 block of West Highland Avenue reported Aug. 1, 12 a.m., that an apartment had been broken into in the building and police determined that $5,000 in jewelry and silverware were missing, police said. According to police, a witness described two men she saw leaving the scene in a Chevy Silverado. The report read that the men were both about 20 years old, but no further description was available.

East Springfield Avenue: A neighbor who was checking in on a house on the unit block of East Springfield Avenue reported Aug. 2, 9:18 p.m., that she went into the house to find a man coming down the stairs., who then fled through the back door, which had been kicked in, police said. According to police, one bedroom had been ransacked, but homeowners were not available to identify if anything was missing.
