Boy's Backpack Taken at Gunpoint, Police say

A boy is walking home from school when he is robbed at gunpoint.

A school-aged boy was robbed at gunpoint on his way home from school on Oct. 18, police said.

The boy was walking near the intersection of Crittenden and East Duval Streets at around 4:15 p.m. when a man with a beard approached the boy and asked to use the boy’s cell phone, police said.

The boy refused, and that’s when the man pulled out a black revolver and told the boy to but his things in a bag, police said.

The boy started to run, but the man grabbed him and took his backpack, police said.

The boy then ran home, police said.
