Boy Struck by Train on Chestnut Hill East Line
A SEPTA train struck a 15-year-old boy on the Chestnut Hill East line on Wednesday.
A northbound SEPTA train struck a 15-year-old boy on the tracks near the Wyndmoor Station on the Chestnut Hill East line at approximately 1:15 p.m., Wednesday.
A spokesperson from SEPTA said that the boy was on the tracks as the train was approaching just north of the Wyndmoor station when he was struck.
The train operator saw the boy, but could not stop the train in time, the spokesperson said.
The boy was then rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where his condition is not known, but the incident was not fatal, the spokesperson said.
Train service on the line was disrupted for about an hour the spokesperson said.
SEPTA is investigating the incident.
