Body Found in Ocean City Believed to be That of Philly Teen

Corinthian "Cory" Hammond, 14, was reported missing June 29 after swimming on the Ninth Street Beach in Ocean City.

A body recovered near the Longport Bridge on Thursday is believed to be Corinthian "Cory" Hammond, who was reported missing after swimming on the Ninth Street Beach in Ocean City.

The 14-year-old Hammond, who is from Philadelphia, was reported missing in June 29.

The body was discovered by a boater at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The body was recovered on the Egg Harbor Township side of the bridge by the United States Coast Guard and the New Jersey Marine Police.

Hammond went missing Sunday evening after 14 swimmers were rescued by the Ocean City Police, Fire Department and Lifeguards. 

Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, Cape May Medical Examiner's Office and the Ocean City Police Department are investigating.
