Bank Robbery Attempted on Stenton Avenue

It is not known at this time if the man made off with any money.

A man attempted to rob a Citizens Bank at the corner of Stenton Avenue and East Washington Lane Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the man presented a note to the teller at the bank at 6324 Stenton Avenue at about 2:40 p.m. demanding money. The man fled on foot in an unknown direction and it is not known at this time if he was successful in taking any money from the bank.

The man, according to police, was about 6'2" and had slight facial hair. Police said he was wearing a brown wool bubble jacket at the time of the incident.
No injuries were reported at the scene, police say.

This is the second such incident at this Citizen's Bank location. The bank was robbed in June 2012.
