Turkey Tags
Over the next few weeks, most of us will have some sort of shopping errands that are holiday related. Will you run them on Thanksgiving or will you wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday? I'm not convinced the typical "well, they get overtime, and we might as well support them if they are working anyway," is a valid argument.
I'm neither marketing expert nor anti-retail. And I don't have a large family, but it somehow feelswrong to rush from turkey to tags on a welcomed public shutdown.
Of course the families in retail know the real deal of what they get themselves into for holidays. Yet, there is something to be said for having one American holiday without politics, religious ceremony, or expected wardrobe choices. When other than Thanksgiving?

My sister will tell you, we are big fans of retail hype and buy into it gleefully on Friday. But, there is a different tone on that Thursday, reserved for a host of other things, maybe more important things mixed with a different kind of indulgence.
I don't need tags after turkey.
