Top 10 Things I Love About ADD

Each year there seems to be more people who are talking about ADD and its symptoms.

In August 2012, The Center For Disease Control published a study that states about 3 percent of Americans were diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.  There are millions more who likely have ADD but are never properly diagnosed or treated. 

Is ADD a problem?  Yes.  But there are some positives.  I give you:

TOP TEN LIST OF COOL THINGS ABOUT ADD

10.       It’s the gift that keeps on giving - you find cool books or games you lost, get excited, lose them again and find them several times, etc.

9.         Few people can go from sautéing chicken, prepping a dessert, and going back to do cook sides in a flash, better than you without flipping out.

8.         Watching 157 episodes of Dora is nothing since you only zone back in for about 5.

7.         Your friend hears a song too many times in her head and she asks you for one of the million thoughts in yours. No problem Chief.

6.         You don’t have a problem with call waiting, and happily jump back in the drama or good news.

5.         Christmas/Holiday shopping is never a problem.  You have fun buying multiple gifts despite the probability you won’t have your list then, or when you wrap later.

4.         You believe your mom when she says she loves all of her children equally  (ADD is hereditary).

3.         Coffee!  It calms you.

2.         Grabbing the remote and flipping through channels in an argument hurts them more than you.

1.         You are a super-hero!  When others choke the day of an assignment, meeting, or pitch, your hyper-focus comes out and saves the day.
