Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

The Pew Research Center asked Americans whether stores and businesses should greet their customers by saying 'Merry Christmas' or 'Happy Holidays.'

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

How should stores greet their many customers during the holiday season?

The Pew Research Center posed that question in a survey last December.

Of those surveyed, the majority picked Merry Christmas over a less religious greeting. But as many said "it doesn't matter" when that choice was given as an option.

The answers were similar to those given in 2005, when Pew first posed the question.
