Final-ly Friday in Mt. Airy to Celebrate Halloween

This monthly event connects the arts with restaurants and retail as local shops stay open late and live entertainment animates the street. Celebrate the fall Halloween season with Final-ly Friday October 25th.

The following is a press release from Mt. Airy USA.

There’s something in the air this Final-ly Friday. Whether its Halloween haunts or a crisp fall breeze, the Business Association of Mt. Airy (BAM), an initiative of Mt. Airy USA, presents Final-lyFriday in Mt. Airy on Friday, October 25th. Spend an evening along Germantown Avenue with kids’ crafts and activities, artisanal guest vendors, restaurant specials, gallery events and late shopping hours at this festive monthly ‘night out in the neighborhood.’

Break into the fall spirit with a creative pumpkin decorating craft session on Germantown Ave between Mt. Pleasant Ave and E. Durham Street (in front of Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church). Children will receive a free pumpkin courtesy of Mt. Airy USA along with all the materials needed to make their own unique creation. Adults and little ones alike can release their inner ghoul with witch, vampire or ghost caricatures from CAREcatures! Then get tatted with custom temporary tattoos by Kadillac Tattoo (7102 Germantown Ave). Popular food truck, The Mini Trini, will also be on-site in front of their recently opened restaurant, Calypso (7122 Germantown Ave).

Dinner and show combinations on the Avenue are scary good this Final-ly Friday. At 8pm, Quintessence Theater Group performs “She Stoops to Conquer,” an uproarious comedy about true love, mistaken identities, and the never-ending battle of the sexes, at the Sedgwick Theater (7137 Germantown Avenue). Before the show, grab a free drink at Trolley Car Diner’s (7619 Germantown Ave) free beer tasting from 5 – 7:30 pm featuring Allagash Brewing Company. Or sip a cool glass of wine at Wine Thief Bistro (7152 Germantown Ave.), where you can enjoy happy hour from 4 to 6 pm and order $5 margaritas all evening long! $5 will also get you a glass of Harvest Sangria from Avenida (7402 Germantown Ave) all evening. After the show, head to Earth Bread and Brewery (7136 Germantown Avenue) where you’ll receive a free dessert with your Quintessence show ticket. Plus, Quintessence subscribers can take 15% off all food.

You can work your muscles at FitLife (7140 Germantown Ave) with a free guest pass to use between 4 and 8 pm or during their free restorative yoga class from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Or if you’d rather exercise your creativity, Six Senses clay studio is offering $10 off each couple during their Final-ly Friday couples night (just make sure to sign-up in advance).
