No Fooling: Trolley Car Ice Cream Shoppe Offering Free Water Ice Tuesday

Shake off winter with a taste of spring.

The following was provided to Patch:

Trolley Car Diner is leaving the jokes to someone else this April Fool’s Day by giving away free water ice all day.  The Trolley Car Ice Cream Shoppe opens on April 1st each year and part of the celebration includes offering thousands of servings of homemade water ice, free of charge, from 12pm to 9pm, rain or shine.

“I’m sure people would rather enjoy homemade Trolley Car water ice than play practical jokes,'' says Shoppe owner Ken Weinstein.  “Especially if it’s FREE homemade Trolley Car water ice.”

With more than ten tempting water ice flavors on hand including Mango, Black Cherry, Lemon and Grape, it will be hard deciding what to choose first.  For ice cream lovers, the Shoppe also offers sixteen flavors of Nelson’s Ice Cream as well as a mouth-watering array of soft serve ice creams, sundaes, gelatis, milkshakes, pretzels, nachos, banana splits, root beer floats and more.  With such a great selection, Weinstein is expecting large crowds and is encouraging people to come early and often!

''We’ve done this event for ten years now, and every year more and more people come out,” says Weinstein.  "Due to the severe winter weather, we are expecting more than ever this year!"

Operating out of a beautifully restored 1948 Presidents' Conference Committee (PCC) streetcar, the Trolley Ice Cream Shoppe will remain open from April through October 15th seven days a week. Trolley Car's new indoor ice cream parlor continues to serve year round treats, including ice cream, shakes and fresh made doughnuts.
