New York's exciting new 6TH BOROUGH QUARTET will perform works by Haydn, Barber, Brubeck and more on Christ Ascension Church's concert series. This concert is FREE to the public. All ages, including children are welcome.
Caeli Smith, of Chestnut Hill, Clare and Maria Semes, of Broomall, and Mitch Lyon, of Narberth, are all alumni of Philadelphia's Settlement Music School and have been playing chamber music together for most of their musical lives and are currently students at the Juilliard School in New York City.
6th Borough made their debut in December 2010 with a holiday concert at New York's hottest new concert venue, the Upper West Side Apple Store, playing an exciting blend of classical, jazz, and world music. Their Philadelphia debut took place on New Year's Day, 2011 at the Prince Music Theater. The quartet plays recitals and events throughout the New York Metropolitan area, including an April 16 benefit concert for Japan at All Soul's Church on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The May 20th concert will be their second and last Philadelphia appearance in the 2010-2011 season. Don't miss it!
