Whispers Along the Wissahickon

Join the Friends

of the Wissahickon (FOW) on Friday, October 18, 2013, as they celebrate the tenth

anniversary of Whispers Along the Wissahickon, the popular fall celebration that has become a fall tradition for

many Philadelphia families. A variety of activities will be offered: hay rides,

face painting, live music, a large bon-fire, and more. The event will be held

at the Wissahickon Environmental Center, at 300

Northwestern Avenue (19118) from 5:30 to 9 p.m. A casual dinner,

beer, wine, and other beverages will be served.  





Sponsors for Whispers Along the Wissahickon include Best

Nest, Live Balloons Party Entertainment, Southern

Wine & Spirits, Stone Brewing Company, and Valley Green Inn.            





Tickets for Whispers

Along the Wissahickon
are $30 for adults, $15 for children, and $85 for a

family of four. Price includes food, beverages, beer, and wine. This is a rain

or shine event that has sold out for the past six years,

Proceeds from the event benefit the

Friends of the Wissahickon, a non-profit organization founded in 1924 and

dedicated to preserving the Wissahickon

Valley. FOW works in

partnership with Philadelphia

Parks and Recreation to

restore historical structures throughout the park, eliminate invasive plant

species, monitor watershed management issues, and restore trails throughout the

Wissahickon Valley Park
