SIXTH ANNUAL READER'S THEATER - STAGED READINGS

The Stagecrafters will bring to Chestnut Hill three
readings of THE CHURCH BELLS ALL WERE BROKEN, a new play by area
playwright Dave Ebersole, presented “script in hand" on their auditorium stage.
Directed by Catherine Pappas and read by veteran Stagecrafters actors Mark
Grayson and Pierlisa Chiodo-Steo, accompanied by a vocal musical ensemble,
this piece is a bitingly satirical look at the excesses of religious
fervor based upon the anti-gay campaign of the Phelps family at the
Westboro Baptist Church in 2Kansas - a contemporary fable on
belief, uncertainty, and the ironies of religious zealotry.  Dave Ebersole has
acted in and directed upwards of thirty plays in the Philadelphia region.  He
recently founded his own theater company, Diversion Productions, which
has served as venue for the production of four of his plays to
date.

Scheduled readings are Fri. July 12th and Sat. July 13th at 8:00 pm, and Sun.
July 14th at 2:00 pm.  Admission is ‘Pay-What-You-Will’.  No reservations are being taken.  An
added bonus will be a “Talk-Back” Q & A session with author, actors, and
director following each performance.  All are invited to stay and
participate.
