Philadelphia Mac & Cheese Cook-Off

The Big Backyard Nursery School is holding its inaugural Philadelphia Mac & Cheese Cook-Off on Saturday October 26th from 3:30pm to 6:30pm at 240 
East Gowen Ave. Phila., PA 19119. Chefs from local restaurants will compete to be judged “The Big Cheese” in the Philadelphia area by Big Backyard Nursery School students. Participants include the Trolley Car Diner, Charles Roman Catering/Mica, Lemon Hill, Farmacy RX, Brittingham’s, South Philly Tap Room, Iron Hill Brewery, Big Backyard Seed to Table coordinator Mimi Burkhard-Vetrano 
and more. Children's entertainment and live music will make this a fun family event for all.

The Philadelphia Mac & Cheese Cook-Off will support the Big Backyard's brand new "Seed to Table" curriculum which involves preschool students in gardening, harvesting, preparing, baking, and eating nutritious foods. This inaugural event is sponsored by generous donations from Citizens Bank, The Big Backyard Nursery School is a parent run cooperative preschool in East Mount Airy that serves Northwest Philadelphia and beyond.
