Mt. Airy Art Garage Monthly Poetry Slam and Open Mic Event First Saturday/Every Month
Do you appreciate the power of words? Are you a spoken word artist? Would you like to read your original work out loud to an audience? Slams are noisy and interactive! The audience can hoot and holler when they like your work. The poets are there to entertain, to invite the audience in, and to have a good time!
Our first ever MAAG Poetry Slam and Open Mic will be held on Saturday, April 5th beginning at 7 PM. There will be prizes, food, atmosphere, and an enthusiastic group of fellow writers. If you’d like to participate in the slam event from 7-9 PM, please email maryann.maag@gmail.com to get your name on the list. (There may be additional openings on the day of the event.) Following the slam event, we will have an Open Mic for all until 10 PM. There is a suggested donation of $5 and you are welcome to bring food and beverages to share.
