The Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College Presents Lecture on "Darwin and Religion"

Edward Davis, Ph.D., professor of the history of science at Messiah College will present the lecture, “Darwin and Religion: Rumors of Warfare in a Post-Darwinian Age” on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Commonwealth Chateau,  SugarLoaf campus at Chestnut Hill College. This lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College. What does Charles Darwin mean for religion? Are Christianity and evolution inevitable foes? Davis will discuss Andrew Dickson White’s famous “warfare” thesis and examine what White actually said, proposing alternative options for genuine science and religion dialogue.

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Kathleen Duffy, SSJ, Ph.D. at 215.248.7197 or kduffy@chc.edu.
