Mutual Mount Airy

Attend our meeting, Jan. 14, 2012 at Lovett Library

RSVP to Peter Javsicas: 215 247-0457, jpj7130@gmail.com

Agenda for Jan. 14: We will hear reports regarding different models of aging-in-place communities and what we might learn from them. There will be Q&A with reps of these villages.

Is this for you?

Are you an older adult in the Mount Airy area? Are you wondering about your lifestyle in the long run?

Maybe, like many other folks, you would like to enjoy living in your own home and continue to be a member of this vibrant, diverse community as long as age permits – in other words, aging in place.

(New-comers please arrive at 6:30 for brief orientation)

Forty-eight local residents attended our Dec. 3rd meeting and gave high marks to such interests as:

Developing neighborhood network & skills bank

Companionship and social network

Coop living - younger/older pairs

Group activities & outings

concerts, book group, knitting group, etc.

Electronics specialist to trouble shoot (computers, etc.)

Resource list of service professionals

Temporary support/help in times of special need

Car pooling/car share/rides when needed

Database of volunteers

Legal/medical/professional advice

Lobbying for older adult issues

Perhaps you have other ideas of ways we can work together for living in place in Mt. Airy. Please contact us to discuss further how Mutual Mount Airy could be of benefit to you and to all of us.

You can join our mailing list and receive resource list and other info before the meeting. Contact
