Chestnut Hill College to Host Lecture on Need for Alliances in Science and Religion

Dr. Scott F. Gilbert, Howard A. Schneiderman Professor of Biology at Swarthmore College, will speak on “Wonder and the Need for Alliances Between Science and Religion” on Thursday, February 27 at 7:00 pm, at the SugarLoaf campus of Chestnut Hill College, 9230 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.

Dr. Gilbert will discuss that by focusing on wonder, science and religion will help to maintain each other, and that both disciplines are changing in ways that can accommodate such alliances. Faye Flam, Science Writer and Lightning Blogger with WHYY/NewsWorks and Journalist-in-residence at Ursinus College will respond. The event is sponsored by the Institute for Religion and Science at Chestnut Hill College, and is free and and open to the public.
