West Mount Airy Neighbors Organization May Work with CHCA

Both organizations are looking for new executive directors.

The West Mount Airy Neighbors organization and the Chestnut Hill Community Association have at least one thing in common: they are both in the process of looking for a new executive director.

WMAN Board President Kevin Peter said that CHCA has reached out to WMAN in hopes of fostering a relationship between the two sides.

"I think we have nothing to lose by talking to these folks," Peter said.

WMAN is conducting a search for a new executive director right now, as well.Former executive director Lizabeth Macoretta  and WMAN has been operating without an executive director since then.

At  Tuesday at the WMAN offices at 6703 Germantown Ave., board members said the community group has saved some money because it hasn't had to pay an executive director's salary over the past few weeks. But they said it's still a priority to hire one as soon as possible because of the fundraising dollars an executive director can bring into the organization.

Board member Dan Rhoton, who called into the meeting, said he's put together a job description that he will send around to board members for feedback. Board members will give that feedback by this weekend.

The position is a 20-hour a week job and pays accordingly, though board members acknowledged that past executive directors have worked far more hours than that.
