Week Ahead: Summer Concert Series Kicks Off

See what's coming up ahead this week in the Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy area.

Summer officially kicks off on Friday, but that's more of a northern hemisphere event.  Here are some things that are going on this week locally.

  • The Chestnut Hill Community Association will hold its monthly zoning meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., at the Chestnut Hill Hospital conference room.  An addition on the 7500 block of McCallum Street as well as parking lot lighting are on the agenda.
  • The Community Association will also hold its first summer concert in Pastorius Park on Wednesday starting at 7:30 p.m.  Suzie Brown will perform her brand of what organizers call a "country charm with a bluesy bite."
  • On Tuesday, Patch will introduce a new redesign that offers users a whole new set of features and better ways to connect with one another.
  • Something different if you're open to it, the Hidden City Philadelphia Festival will also happen this weekend across the city.  A number of sites across Philadelphia with historic or artistic significance will become open to the public.
