NWS Issues Wind Advisory Friday

Gusts could be as strong as 45 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Philadelphia area, predicting gusts of up to 45 miles per hour.

The NWS released the advisory Friday morning, stating that the wind would be enough to knock down limbs and weaker trees, and could create power outages.

The advisory added, “the winds will make it difficult to drive high profile vehicles especially on bridges and other elevated roadways.”

The wind is expected to start at 5 p.m. Friday and last until early Saturday morning, around 4 a.m. During that time, the NWS recommends using caution when driving and securing outdoor items such as patio furniture and garbage cans.
