The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Philadelphia and surrounding counties until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
A cold front moved across the region Tuesday night which caused high moisture in the atmosphere. The high moisure level mixed with the remants of Tropical Storm Lee moving along the Gulf Coast may cause flooding situations Wednesday with excessive rainfall Tuesday into Wednesday, the service stated.
General rainfall amounts in the watch areas are expected to average between two and four inches with six inches expected in some isolated areas by noon Wednesday.

The high amounts of rain recorded last month combined with periods of heavy rain over the next couple of days will prompt areas of new or renewed flooding, the service stated, adding that urban areas, basements and small streams and rivers may experience flooding conditions.
