Cloudy End to September

As September comes to an end we will be locked into a wet pattern through mid-week.

We will see a wet end to the month of September as an upper level low that has parked itself over Illinois is going to keep our region in a wet pattern until the middle of next week. Due to the positioning of the Jet Stream in Canada, this low currently has nothing to push it onward so we are going to be locked into this weather pattern for several more days.

The week will begin with periods of clouds and some sun on Monday. There is the chance of rain showers throughout the day. The temperatures should be in the low 80s with the chance of more showers and a thunderstorm overnight.

On Tuesday, the cloudy skies will continue with temperatures reaching the low 80s. There will be the chance of on and off showers throughout most of the day as well as overnight.

By mid-week, the low-pressure system should begin to move out of our area. We will then see partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low 80s. There will be the chance for more passing showers as the system continues to push off shore. Wind gusts may reach near 25 mph.

On Thursday, we will see partly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the high 70s. Wind gusts may reach over 20 mph throughout the afternoon hours.

There will be mostly cloudy skies on Friday with temperatures in the mid 70s. There will be a slight chance of a passing shower throughout the day.

The month of October will begin with cooler temperatures and dryer weather. Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures reaching the low 70s. On Sunday, there will be plenty of sunshine but the temperature will struggle to rise above the mid 60s.

Looking forward, it appears that early next week we will see seasonable temperatures in the mid 70s but much cooler temperatures should reach our area by later in the week.
