A Sneak Peek Into CHH's New Operating Suite

The operating rooms are part of the hospital's expansion opening next month.

While the opening of the expansion is still nearly six weeks away, Chestnut Hill Patch got the sneak peek last week of what’s going to be inside. One of the notable aspects of the expansion is a new operating room suite.

Chestnut Hill Hospital CEO John Cacciamani describes each operating room as “huge” and state-of-the-art.

“The best way to describe them to the average person, is that when I take surgeons in to look at it- whether it’s our surgeons or ones we’re trying to recruit- they all say, ‘Oh my, this is great,’” Cacciamani said.

The ORs are spacious, with space for surgeons to move around, and plenty of storage to be fully equipped. The rooms are designed by professionals, who specialize in operating room design.

“They are experts in how much space is needed, how much storage, what kind of recovery space, what are the rules and standards that have to be followed,” Cacciamani described.
