Mid Life Stress-Myth or Reality?

Is midlife stress real?

Midlife represents a normal stage of life with some predictable and some not so predictable experiences. The term crises conjures up images of men and women in their 40s and 50s trying to recapture their youth often by acting out in ways that reinforce stereotypes. Most people, however, manage this process without disrupting what really matters to them.

This can be a time of joy, searching, and rediscovery as we begin to contemplate and jump into the next chapter of our lives. If you have children, those relationships are changing and if your parents are still alive they may need you to take on a different role than what you’ve had over the last few decades especially if you are a caretaker. Your own a loved ones health issues and career challenges may come into play and need attention.

There can be relationship turmoil, depression, or anxiety yet this transitional
period may also mark a period of tremendous growth. It can be a time of renewed
energy, commitments, and contentment if you put a little energy into processing
these challenges so you can successfully navigate through midlife as a couple
or as an individual.

I second that advice about not leaving valuables in your car. There are thieves who hang out onRead More Northwestern Ave near Brunos and watch people park and go walk. I locked the car but they jimmied the rubber strip along the door window. My dark purse was on the floor in back. They left the purse and my ID and the cash, hoping that I would not miss my credit cards for a few hours. Luckily, I noticed--but not before they had gone on a wild $1500 shopping spree! The spree started very shortly after I left the car, so I know they had watched me. Creepy....Zeta Cross
