Zoning Board Approves New Covenant Nursery
The campus was permitted to expand its nursery service on Tuesday.
The Philadelphia Zoning Appeals Board approved an application by New Covenant Church to expand its nursery service at its meeting on Tuesday.
The three-person board unanimously approved the application, which would expand nursery services at the New Covenant Campus from its current Sunday-only configuration to a Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. service.
The application received letters on its behalf from both Councilwoman Cindy Bass and the WMAN zoning board, which spoke in favor of allowing the variance.

The application, according to the ruling of the zoning board "does not alter the character of the neighborhood," and, given the size of the campus, "the daily impact of the nursery would be negligible.
