Writing Workshop with Thaddeus Rutkowski
- Where/When:
Big Blue Marble Bookstore, 551 Carpenter Lane, on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.
- Why Go:
Rutkowski is a graduate of Cornell University and The Johns Hopkins University, and the author of the novels Haywire, Tetched and Roughhouse. Both Tetched and Roughhouse were finalists for a Members' Choice Asian American Literary Award. In this workshop, participants will write short pieces according to several different prompts and then offer feedback on one another’s work.

Falsetto Dinner Theatre at Bourbon Blue
- Where/When:
Bourbon Blue, 2 Rector Street, on Thursday at 7pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
- Why Go:
Enjoy a three-course meal and murder mystery show dedicated to solving the case of Tony Falsetto’s murder. As a member of the convention, you could be selected to introduce Tony. Or you might just find yourself as a member of the family as Uncle Junior.

Merion Concert Band in Pretzel Park
- Where/When:
Pretzel Park, Manayunk, one block from Main St, bordered by Cotton, Rector, Silverwood, and Cresson Streets; Thursday from 7-8:30pm
- Why Go:
Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening with the Merion Concert Band. They will be performing a rousing selection of popular marches and patriotic music, including “A Hymn of Peace” by Robert Spittal, and “The Light Cavalry Overture” by Franz Von Suppe.
