Wayne Restaurant Makes Unhealthy Dish List

Chili's reportedly serves up a dish that has 1,660 calories, 39 grams of saturated fat, and 5,025 milligrams of sodium.

"I love my baby back, baby back ribs."

At least that's what the long-running Chili's commercial says.

But the Center for Science in the Public Interest says that those ribs deserve recognition in its annual Xtreme Eating Awards for how bad they are. Rather, how bad they are for you.

According to the 2013 "winners" list, a full rack of baby back ribs with Shiner Bock BBQ Sauce (made with Shiner Bock Beer) contains 1,660 calories, 39 grams of saturated fat, and 5,025 milligrams of sodium.

"Toss in the Homestyle Fries (400 calories) and Cinnamon Apples (270 calories) that come with the ribs and you’re talking a real ribs dinner," reads the Xtreme Eating Awards document. "That assumes you can still open your mouth after swallowing 2,330 calories (more than a day’s worth), 45 grams of sat fat (two days’ quota), and 6,490 mg of sodium (a stunning four-day supply)."

I haven't eaten their [expletive] for years. I don't know why I ever did. If you eat this you are either an ignoramus or trying trying to poison yourself. I wish they never reopened after last year's fire. An obese relative of mine who ate there twice a week (one of the few places in walking distance from their apartment) was no longer overweight by the time they reopened.

It's possible my BMI doesn't give me standing to weigh in on this hit piece, but I love Chili's Monterey chicken. And I'm not alone. Take a look at these 5-star reviews: http://www.food.com/recipe/chilis-monterey-chicken-59633 I'm very glad Chili's rebuilt. I don't eat out very often, but I'm glad to have them in the neighborhood when I'm in a Southwestern frame of mind.
