Crane Hoists Pianos Into New Home

Maplewood Music Studio moves into its new digs on Germantown Avenue.

Instead of musical chairs, it's musical pianos.

Maplewood Music Studio enlisted the help of a large crane Monday to move three pianos to its third location since the studio's founding in 1980.

The studio is moving in above the Chestnut Hill Cheese Shop at 8509 Germantown Ave.

Owner and director Rich Rudin is taking his business from a space above Gravers Lane Gallery, which he opened in 2006.

The original studio was in Germantown at 47 Maplewood Mall and remains there. This is its second location.
