Tangled Not Tackled: A Different Kind of Super Bowl Party

The yarn and crafts store will host a Super Bowl tailgate party.

For those who are not so bowled over by the big game Sunday, there is one place holding a tailgate party for patrons who may not find the Super Bowl so super.

, 7709 Germantown Avenue, is hosting a pre-Super Bowl party Sunday, 12 - 4 p.m., for the crafty folks who would rather work a running stitch than watch a running back.

“A lot of the ladies come, somewhat to hang out and do their own thing while their home is all about game day,” said Anne Fry, who works at the store. “They can get a new project and work on it here, or bring it home if they still want to be part of the action, but have a project to work on while watching the game.”

Tangled Web will be serving refreshments, and opening up their spacious upstairs area for craft fans to get down to business, chat or just have some peace and quiet.

The party doubles as a sale. The store will have a bucketful of discounts—literally. Patrons can reach into a bucket and pull out a tag that tells them what their discount for the day will be.

This is the second year Tangled Web is hosting the sale, partially due to the success of last year’s event.

“It was a crowd. We had a good turnout, people can come in for the sale or come in for the socialization, but it works out pretty nicely,” Fry said.

The store will also be collecting soup cans for Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s food drive. Anyone who brings in a soup can gets and extra five percent discount on their purchases.
