Restaurant Roundup: Mica to Wabi Sabi

Patch reviews Mica, Poppi's Pizza, Fuji Mountain, Sampan Inn, Point of Destination, Lee's Hoagie House, Redstone American Grill, New Wayne Pizza, Urban Café and Wabi Sabi

Looking for a good restaurant to go to this weekend?

Chestnut Hill Patch brought you the details of  Thursday. Chef Chip Roman wowed us at Blackfish and continues to do so at his newest hotspot Mica. Seasonal, local produce are the stars of his well executed cuisine. You can not go wrong with any of the duck items, try the foie gras or Magret duck breast. Click  for the review.

If that restaurant isn’t to your liking, check out other area restaurants that Patch reviewed this week:

Try the Poppi’s slice with fresh and Buffalo mozzarella cheeses, garlic, basil and fresh tomato sauce. The arugula salad is the perfect accompaniment. Click for the review.

Sublime sushi, sashimi and soba noodles are what’s on the menu here. All your other favorites like teriyaki, udon and satisfying rolls are also available but the fish here is not to be missed. Click h for the review.

A restaurant that offers both Chinese specialties and a full Japanese sushi menu, this place is heavenly. Try the honey miso salmon and the sushi platters. Click for the review.

Carroll Tillman is hands down one of the nicest and most energetic people you will ever meet. This Renaissance woman can do it all and then break out in song. Click for the Meet the Chef.

The Lee’s Special hoagie is still one of the best around. Those that are looking for  a healthier alternative can opt for one of their wraps or the turkey hoagie. If you want a garden salad, it’s best to go somewhere else. Click for the review.

Stop in for a complimentary pecan bun, eggs prepared anyway you like, special eggs Benedict and hash browns made with cream cheese.  The fantastic brunch outshines the other meals. Click for the review.

A killer pizza, fresh salads and some of the best stromboli around, this place has it all. The polynesian pizza is so good you won’t want to share. Click for the review.

Urban Café 5109 Rochelle Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19128

John Patrick O’Donnell is the chef/owner of the Urban Café in Philadelphia. A veteran of the industry he recalls taking over his sister’s EZ Bake oven and watching Jack Tripper cook pasta on the TV show Three’s Company. Click for the Meet the Chef.

Wabi Sabi 1776 East Lancaster Avenue Paoli, PA 19301

Delectable Chinese and Japanese offerings are what are available at this restaurant. Try the wonton soup, the Chinese pizza and spicy tuna maki. The zaru soba is delicious but beware of the primitive cooling mechanism. Click for the review.
