Restaurant Roundup: Cosimo's Cafe to Alfredo

Patch reviews Cosimo's Café, Primo Hoagies, Qdoba, Ella Maria Pizzeria, Avenida, Aperto BYO, Christopher's a Neighborhood Place, Crossroads Coffee Shop and Alfredo

Looking for a good restaurant to go to this weekend?

Chestnut Hill Patch brought you the details of  Thursday. A decent slice of pizza and all your favorite pizzeria staples make up the menu here but make sure to check out the fantastic kids’ area complete with pint sized furniture and a mini children’s video library. Click for the review.

If that restaurant isn’t to your liking, check out other area restaurants that Patch reviewed this week:

Try the “suprimo” and the marinated mozzarella salad but stay away from the rice pudding.  High volume means fresh ingredients and efficient service. Click for the review.

Stop in for a great grilled chicken taco or some affordably priced guacamole. Wouldn’t try the seasonal mango salad though. Click for the review.

Ella Maria Pizzeria 1254 West Chester Pike Havertown, PA 19083

A fantastic slice of tomato pie for one dollar and a porchetta sandwich that is out of this world are just two examples of the soulful Italian American cuisine served here. Click for the review.

Two dyed in the wool chefs who happen to be married hone their cooking skills in the best kitchens in America then decide to open their own Latin American place. The patrons of Mt. Airy are the better for it. Click here for the Meet the Chef.

Aperto BYOB 232 Woodbine Avenue Narberth, PA 19072

The old Gemelli space has a new chef, owner and entirely new menu. You will not be disappointed. Try the fabulous salmon tartare with tzatziki or the veal cheeks. It’s not exactly summer fare but they are so tender and delicious it’s worth it. Click for the review.

Christopher’s a Neighborhood Place 108 North Wayne Avenue Wayne, PA 19087

The chef owner here is warm, friendly and a veteran of the restaurant industry. He makes a killer chile relleno and still has a sweet spot for the desserts of his pastry chef. Click for the Meet the Chef.

While I wasn’t a fan of the hot chicken waldorf panini I fell in love with the egg bacon and cheese brioche sandwich and you will too. They do a great cup of joe here as well. Click for the review.

Alfredo 668 Lancaster Avenue Berwyn, PA 19312

Italian food good enough to satisfy a first generation Italian American, this highly rated newcomer was the real deal. Try the caprese salad or their pasta dishes. Be careful where you park though. Click for the review.
