McNally's Named Top 10 Cheesesteak

The Chestnut Hill restaurant was on a list of places in the city for the 'most authentic cheesesteaks.'

When you think Chestnut Hill, your first thought might not be "home of one of the city's set cheesesteaks. Time to adjust your thinking.

McMally's Tavern on Germantown Avenue has been named one of the city's top-10 most authentic cheesesteaks.

The Northwest restaurant was featured on Visit Philly, the city's visitor website as the number seven most authentic cheesesteak in the city.

Here's what the website had to say about McNally's:

McNally’s is a Chestnut Hill landmark and it’s famous for its signature sandwich, the Schmitter®, which is a variation of Philadelphia’s famous cheesesteak sandwich. The Schmitter includes the traditional grilled steak, fried onions and melted cheese but adds grilled salami, grilled tomatoes and a special sauce and comes on a toasted Kaiser roll instead of a long hoagie roll. While the combination might sound strange, it’s famous for a reason — it’s frighteningly delicious.
