Germantown Ave. to Close Sunday in Chestnut Hill

Parts of Germantown Avenue will close for the Home & Garden Festival.

Germantown Avenue will be closed in Chestnut Hill from Willow Grove Avenue all the way to Rex Avenue on Sunday, May 5, for the 17th Annual Home and Garden Festival.

Event organizers expect from 20-30,000 visitors to attend the event that features food, fun and gardening.

Organizers say there will be limited parking in some of the lots in Chestnut Hill for $5, but they recommend that festival attendees use public transportation.

The heart of the festival is at the end of the SEPTA Chestnut Hill West Line.

Germantown Avenue will be closed to traffic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then it is expected to reopen at 5 p.m.
