Chestnut Hill Shops Take Flower Show Window Awards

Local shops took home about half of the awards for the window decorating contest.

Germantown Avenue strollers have had the chance, over the last two weeks, to get a sneak peek into the Philadelphia International Flower Show’s 2012 theme: ‘Hawaii: Islands of Aloha.’

Windows along the avenue have been decorated as part of a in storefronts around the city.

Winners of the contest were announced Friday, with Chestnut Hill shops taking home the prize in five of the nine categories, and an honorable mention.

Chestnut Hill shops won the following categories:

  • Best Handmade Display: , 8009 Germantown Ave.
  • Best Interpretation of Flower Show Theme: Earth Garden Home, 8433 Germantown Ave.
  • Best Use of Flower Show Poster: , 8440 Germantown Ave.
  • Crowd Favorite: , 8432 Germantown Ave.
  • Overall Window Displays: , 8607 Germantown Ave. (Tied with Just Dogs Gourmet, 1804 Chestnut St. in Center City)
