Summer Show Still Going at Art Garage
The Mt. Airy Art Garage will host its Summer Show Off Exhibit now until August 30.
Summer may be winding down, but the Mt. Airy Art Garage's summer show-off show is still going strong.
The show features both member and non-member work in just about every medium including painting, photography, sculpture, mosaic, encaustic, clay, jewelry, fiber, wood, found objects, and more.
"Don’t spend those summer days sweltering. Instead, come to the Art Garage and indulge your creativity. What do you have to lose except boredom?" said Linda Slodki who runs the art garage.
“A lot of artists feel isolated,” Slodki said. “But we try to give them a place where they can work together and be inspired by each other.”
The work at the show is from artists across the city, which is what Slodki wants.
“I wanted it [the art garage] to be a dream factory,” Slodki said. “I wanted it to be a place where we could build a community, and artists could make connections.”
The "Summer Show Off" show runs from June 28 until August 30.
The Mt. Airy Art Garage is located at 11 W. Mt. Airy Ave. Their hours are Thursday-Saturday, 12-6 p.m. and Sunday, 12-5 p.m.
